Testimonials

Words can not explain how our 'friends' feel when they realise they are pregnant and are going to have a baby. I say friends because that's what they become. Every Monday morning we open the 'Happy Sack' and read the cards and letters from couples who have become pregnant, had a baby or even those who simply want to keep in touch.

I publish these testimonials because to me it demonstrates just how worthwhile the journey to pregnancy and ultimately motherhood really is and who better to tell it than by our friends.

All our couples have given their consent for the letters to be published, though we have chosen to remove their personal details.

Hi Susan and Dr Gazvani,

Believe it or not, I am now just over 35 wks pregnant and have now finished work waiting for the little bundle of joy to arrive!

I have been fit and healthy during the pregnancy, no major problems and all the scans are fine.

We can't tell you how happy we are and it is down to Dr Gazvani and the team. I am not biased as I filled out a questionaire in Cyprus praising the team for their efficientcy and professionalism.

We were very impressed with the treatment we have recieved and that was before we knew I was pregnant.

We had spent over 10 years trying for a baby and I never thought that it would ever happen but it has thanks to you and your team.

Also, they really seem to know what they are doing in Cyprus as regards to placing the eggs back in a position that I wouldn't have a low lying placenta, remarkable!

Many thanks to you all again and I will send you some pictures when the baby is born.

With love

Hi Sue

Just letting you know we had two beautiful baby girls by emergency C section (33wks) on June 2nd. Still in neonatal unit at Countess of Chester hospital at mo but both are progressing well and we are hoping to get them home very soon.

Doesn't seem that long ago since we we're chatting in the hotel bar in Cyprus.

Many thanks for all your contribution to our new family.

Hello Claire!

I have received your e-mail and the Donor Request Form attachment.

It was wonderful to meet you and Mr. Kingsland – exactly one week ago today!  The consultation was a very positive experience for me, which inspired hope, where I thought there had been none.

On Wednesday I have my blood test, and shall return the donor form when I get the results.  Meantime, my husband and I have been taking time to review our thoughts as regards a male donor…

I know it is early days, but we appreciate the time take by the UKCFA; for providing clear and thoughtful information, a supportive environment and above all, for making new life a real possibility. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Claire & Sue

I hope you are both well.

Firstly, thanks to you both for all the support you have given us both during the initial treatment and also to let you know that the information and communication whilst we were in Cyprus by Dorothy was A+.  All the team in Cyprus were so helpful, during and after treatment.

Secondly, not to tempt fate(!) like a fool, I thought I had enough drugs to see me through following my pregnancy test next Saturday 8th May.  However, I am short of the Progynova and also the Cyclogest!

"IF" I do get a positive result then is it possible to purchase the drugs through yourselves or do I need to see my GP for a prescription? I do appreciate that you only provide the drugs up to the pregnancy test.

Also Sue, whilst I was having the treatment, Dr Tekin did tell me that I have a weak cervix – which I already know about and also that I would need to see my gynaecologistwith regards to having a "stitch" put in.

I do appreciate that all of the above is if my test is positive – so this is not at all urgent as I know you have other ladies to deal with.

Thanks again for all your help and look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards

Dear Dorothy and Mr Gazvani

It is with great joy that we send you this e-mail to let you know that we are now the very happy and proud parents of twins born on the 6th of April 2010.

We wish to express our eternal gratitude to you Dorothy for making our stay in Cyprus and our experience at your clinic, one that was relaxed and informed, unlike the previous IVF experiences that we had in the UK.

Please extend our gratitude and eternal thanks to Dr Tekin all your team there in Famagusta and also to Mr Gazvani who was ‘Top Notch’ over in Liverpool.

The kids are now 3 weeks old and life is fruitful, joyous and so much easier for us here in Lancashire. Once again, many thanks from a very happy family who you have helped much more than you know.

PS. We are quite serious about trying again and coming to collect a couple more of those eggs in a year or two!   We will see how we go.

With very best regards.

Dear Mr Gazvani, Claire and Sue

When we decided to contact UKCFA it was very daunting: what was going to happen, was it trustworthy? We were very sceptical and unsure. We contacted the UK coordinater, Claire England. We had lots of information and from then everything moved quickly and was made so easy, nothing was ever too much trouble. We went to Liverpool Womens Hospital, where the consultants were very helpful. We were put at ease with everything, the worries and concerns we had quickly melted. We were also put in touch with Dorothy Madine, the coordinator in Cyprus who helped us with any queries we had. We were then off to Cyprus. On arrival we were met at the airport by Mehmet, who ferried us back and forth to the hospital. Without him we would have been lost, he was most helpful.

When we were in Cyprus the procedure was excellent. It didn't feel clinical, they made us very at ease and comfortable, this also with the combination of being abroad made the whole treatment very relaxed for such a worrying and scary time. We now have healthy, adorable twins.

Love x

Dear Mr Gazvani and Claire

It is with great joy and happiness (and gratitude that mere words can not do full justice to) that I am writing to you to let you know that I gave birth to our darling baby daughter yesterday morning, the 29th January, 2010. We chose a Russian name in honour of the wonderful Russian lady who donated her eggs so that we could realise our dreams, via the work of you and your Team?

Our daughter weighed 6lbs 14 ounces and arrived into the world at 05:16am, after a long and arduous labour.
Thanks on behalf of all 3 of us for the joy that you and the Team here in Britain and in Cyprus have given us. You will all always remain in our hearts for helping us achieve our dreams.

With love

Dear Claire and Dorothy

Sorry it took so long to write to you but we've been so busy. Hope all is well in sunnier climes? Em wants to come back to see her friend Memhet, she still talks about him! Grace is doing really well, we're into a routine now (almost!) and Em is still being a great help. I've attached a photograph for you and written about our experience.

I had my first daughter without any problems when I was 40 and decided to try straight away for another baby. I was devastated to be told after trying for two years and following exhaustive tests, that my ovarian reserve was so low, that I had little chance of having another baby. However, at the age of 44, I gave birth to my second daughter, all thanks to the UKCFA.
I was advised that egg donation offered the only chance, but the waiting list for a UK donor was years and I felt at a loss on how to proceed as a foreign donor was my only option. I communicated with a number of European clinics, but there were language difficulties and I didn’t feel that my questions were dealt with sympathetically at a time when I was feeling quite upset and confused. I discussed my concerns with my consultant, who put me in touch with the UKCFA. I was immediately contacted by their UK co-ordinator Claire, who called me at home and spent a great deal of time explaining how the donation process worked and the procedures my husband and I should expect to undergo before and during our trip to Cyprus. I was encouraged to ask any questions and immediately felt comfortable and confident in the UKCFA team approach. I had to attend only one referral appointment in Liverpool and again was encouraged to ask as many questions as I needed to.

I was contacted by Dorothy, a British Consultant Nurse who is based in Cyprus and one of the co-ordinators for the UKCFA. Dorothy reassured me about the treatment I would receive and the standards to which the hospital works. She even helped us find accommodation in Cyprus since we had decided to take our little girl with us for the 10 day trip. We decided when it was convenient for us to visit Cyprus and Claire sent us information from which we chose our donor and she arranged for all my medication to be delivered direct to me.

Once in Cyprus, the clinic arranged for us to be collected from the airport and our driver was available to take us to our clinic appointments. He gave us his private mobile number and insisted we ring if we needed any help. He arranged a hire car and when we had a minor motor accident, he sorted everything out for us with the other driver, over the phone!

The clinic was modern and clean with excellent facilities and the staff could not have been nicer to us, or our little girl. We only had to attend on two occasions, for a couple of hours each time. Dorothy was always available to explain what was going to happen (and hold my hand at times!) and she kept in daily contact as our embryos developed. Once home, Claire and Dorothy continued to offer support until we had our pregnancy confirmed and we returned to NHS care.

We cannot thank the UKCFA staff enough for helping us to achieve our dream, their kindness and professionalism cannot be praised highly enough!

Love to xxx

Hello Mr Gazvani,

Apologies for the delay in letting you know that we now have a beautiful daughter – Jessica, who was born on 8th May. We did pop into the Hewitt Centre last month hoping to see you but you were not in the hospital that day. Perhaps you could let us know when would be a good time to come in as we would love to introduce you to Jessica.

Mr Kingsland said he would like to meet our baby daughter also when we bumped in to him during the pregnancy. If you could let us know also when it would be convenient to visit you both we would love to come and see you.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your expert help in making our dream come true. We are very proud parents.

Yours Sincerely

Dear Claire

Had a lovely time in Cyprus and had a wonderful experience at the clinic. Great team of people! I had 7 embryos which split into 14, 7 girls and 7 boys! I had 2 implanted (crossing fingers and toes!) 10 were good enough to freeze. I’m going away on holiday when I need to do my test so will take some pregnancy kits away with me and will let you know how it goes!

Thank you so much for all your help!

Hello Mr Kingsland

I just wanted to write and thank you for all your help and support during our treatment . We found the Cyprus clinic to be very, very good and we were very impressed. Everything went perfectly, so thank you for organising everything so well between Liverpool and Cyprus. Dorothy said our donor was very good, so we are so pleased with our choice. The doctor in Cyprus also said she was a good match and looked like me – same shape and size etc, so that was lovely to hear. I will let you know of the test result, early next week!

Hope to see you all soon. x x x

Hi Gazvani

Thank you for the e-mail. We would like to thank everybody connected with our latest trip for the professionalism and personal service given to us. It was better than expected and seemed like a normal holiday apart from a few hours at the clinic so it worked our very well.

We will let you know the results of the test next week.

Many, many thanks

Dear Dr. Gazvani and Belgin,

Please forgive me for not contacting you earlier but we have wonderful news to share. Our baby son was born in Portland, Oregon during March of this year. Nathan was six months old yesterday and the first few months have been exciting as well as a time of adapting for us all.

Please would you kindly inform Dr. Tekin and the rest of the team of our wonderful news?

Thank you.

Many blessings

Dear Claire and Dorothy

Just to let you know that our beautiful son has arrived. He was born on 15 August following emergency c section.
My B.P went up in the last week of pregnancy otherwise everything was fine. He is great and we are totally enjoying being parents. We feel truly blessed by having him in our lives.
Once again a huge thank you to all the staff that supported us through this process and made it all possible.

Very best wishes to all

Hello Claire

Our twin boys were born on 1 February. Both are very well and healthy, though I feel like I have been run over by a truck, whilst my husband is completely besotted.
Having had treatment at two UK clinics previously, our experience of treatment in UK and Cyprus was totally different. Your positivity and care really made a difference. The appointments at Liverpool were relaxed and tension free and at no point did we feel we were just a number. Cyprus was initially daunting but having Dorothy guide us through from beginning to end was reassuring and completely eased our fears. I do think that without your wonderful team we wouldn't have two amazing sons,  so we cannot thank you enough.

Please pass on our sincerest thanks to Mr. Gazvani.

Dear Mr Gazvani

Originally we were looking to receive treatment in the UK and perceived other countries as being behind the UK when it came to treatments in fertility, we had toyed with the idea of using a clinic abroad as treatment costs are so high in the UK. When we were approached through our UK treatment to consider treatment abroad, we were both apprehensive and obviously the whole process is so much about high and lows that we kind of went along with process after hearing of Northern Cyprus and its success rate I asked lots and lots of questions as I was a bit sceptical, all my questions were answered fully.

We decided together to go through with our treatment abroad and found the whole process was very much hand holding all the way through, at no point did we feel that we were unsure what we had to do, or what the clinic had to do, whilst there we had a holiday this helped the success no end as me and my wife were incredibly relaxed even though we were supposed to be stressed whilst receiving treatment. We now have a beautiful son who has brought my wife and me everything we ever wanted, indeed the joy of telling my wife she was pregnant was the best moment in my life. Effectively when you leave the clinic you are pregnant!

I would highly recommend the service we received, the people of Northern Cyprus and the hand holding from the staff at the clinic and the UK representative, we have empathy with people in this situation however all we can say is it’s kind of like they take the stressful parts away and leave you to do the baby making bit, looking back it was wonderful for us both.

Hello Claire

Initially, my husband and I were unsure about choosing a treatment clinic abroad. I had researched various other clinics abroad, the advantage being that treatment was available immediately. We chose UKCFA because it has the best success rates. It also has a UK base with an English nurse here and in Cyprus. The most reassuring part of the experience was meeting Mr Gazvani and Claire in the UK prior to our treatment. Every query was answered, every concern we had was dealt with wholly and efficiently. They are such a professional, knowledgeable team yet at the same time are so friendly, very approachable and totally down to earth. Claire seems to be available virtually 24/7 via text, phone and email…nothing seems too much to ask.

Mr. Gazvani has a wealth of experience in the fertility field, but it is just as much his warmth and his ease with patients that instills so much trust and confidence. Our experience in Cyprus was also very positive. The fact that we were on holiday actually detracted from any anxiety felt about the procedures. The hospital in Famagusta is fabulous. Meticulously clean, spacious, airy and comfortable. The staff were all welcoming and helpful. Even Dr Tekin came to the reception area to offer us some biscuits!

I would absolutely recommend the UKCFA team to anyone "unfortunate" enough to be in our position.

Take care and we will see you soon x

Dear Claire and Mr Gazvani

My husband and I were recommended the UK Cypriot Fertility Association (UKCFA) by our consultant when it became apparent that we were not going to conceive without assistance. We were attracted to using the clinic because of the fact that the clinic was based in the UK, there was regular and face to face contact available where we live, we were able to select our donor, there was ‘continuity of care’ from the UK through to Cyprus and we were able to plan when we were going out to Cyprus. This enabled us to sort out time off work, flights and accommodation, which took away any uncertainty and so reduced the stress involved.

Right from the outset our contact with the clinic was efficient and helpful. Claire England got in touch as soon as our details were passed onto her and gave us lots of useful information in an easy to understand way. All our questions were answered quickly and straightforwardly. Claire was always positive and focused on success.

We were also in regular contact with Dorothy Madine in Cyprus who answered all our questions ahead the trip to Cyprus and helped us to organise everything for our stay there. Once we arrived in Cyprus, we were met by our driver who made us feel welcome and all the staff at the clinic were friendly, helpful and ensured that we were always updated on progress through daily telephone calls and explaining each step through helpful handouts and full explanations on our clinic visits. The day of the implantation was made as calm as possible and everyone made us feel like that was going to work and thankfully for us it has been successful. Our week in Cyprus also felt like a proper break. In between our two visits to the clinic we had time to relax, see the island and relax together in sun!

Our baby is due in 6 weeks time and we are really grateful for all the help and support that everyone at the UKCFA has given to us. We would have no hesitation in recommending the UKFCA to anyone who needs a helping hand in creating a family.

Love to all x

Hi Sue,

We have taken the second test which proved to be negative!

So we have spoken to Dorothy, Sue Walker and Claire England and started to organize our second visit to Cyprus.
We would at this stage wish to thank you and Mr Gazvani for the care and support and professionalism in this difficult and emotional time of our lives.

We are very happy with the progression of our second visit to Cyprus and we feel that we do not need to see Mr Gazvani again at this stage, but will call on your support and guidance if in need.

Kind regards and best wishes

With my kindest wishes.
We were very impressed with the treatment e have recieved and that was before we knew I was pregnant.
We had spent over 10 years trying for a baby and I never thought that it would ever happen but it has thanks to you and your team.
Also, they really seem to know what they are doing in Cyprus as regards to placing the eggs back in a position that I wouldnt have a low lying placenta, remarkable!
